XANIK PRESSURE SEAL VALVES

PRESSURE SEAL TECHNOLOGY

Pressure Seal Valve Designs

Xanik pressure seal valves come in gate, globe, swing check, stop check, lift check, as well as tilting disc check designs. These valves perform well in high-pressure and high-temperature applications. So, several industries rely on them for main steam, reheat, and feed water systems. They also support catalytic reforming and other demanding processes. In addition, power plants, SAGD operations, and refineries use these valves for efficient and reliable flow control. Their relevance does not stop there, they are also essential in petrochemical and other process industries that require durable, high-performance valves.

Pressure Equalizing in Xanik Pressure Seal Valves

In conventional double-seated parallel gate valves, trapped liquid can expand due to heat. Moreover, this thermal expansion increases pressure inside the closed valve chamber. The rising pressure forces the upstream and downstream discs into tighter contact with their seats. As a result, excessive stress builds up in the valve chamber. This added stress can make turning the handwheel difficult when raising the disc. If pressure rises too quickly, it may lead to leaks or body deformation. To prevent these issues, these valves require a pressure-equalizing connection. This connection balances pressure between the valve chamber and upstream piping, thus ensuring safe operation.
